Steamboat, Montana, has been an iconic destination for many generations.
It is known as “The Mountain,” after the famous steamboat that made it to the White House in 1865.
But over the past few years, the town has seen a number of elevation changes, including one that would make it the highest in the United States.
In February 2018, the local water department approved a new water source for the city, which had been forced to cut back on water supplies as it struggled to meet growing water demands.
But the changes are only part of the story.
The town’s water supply has also been compromised, with the elevation of its topography increasing from 6,600 feet (2,743 meters) above sea level to 10,600.
“The elevation of Steamboat is more than twice what it was 10 years ago,” says the Steamboat Water and Power Authority, which administers the town’s wastewater treatment plants.
Steamboat’s water level is about 10,000 feet higher than it was in 2018.
But despite the increased elevation, Steamboat has also seen an increase in the amount of wastewater it is releasing.
And the amount is rising more quickly than previously anticipated, according to an investigation by the Washington Post.
Steamboats, which can carry 1,000 to 2,000 people at a time, are a popular sight at the town, but the city’s population has steadily grown.
By 2025, the population is projected to increase by roughly 400 people, according the report.
The increase in population and wastewater output have prompted the water department to temporarily close steamboat springs to reduce pressure on the pipes.
But while Steamboat saw some of the largest changes to its water source in the past decade, there have been other impacts to the town.
According to the Post, some residents and businesses have been forced out of their homes due to the rising water.
One Steamboat resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Post that “the water from our house is flowing all the time, every day, but it’s going up in two or three months.
And we have to go in there and do what we have been doing for years, which is clean the water, and get rid of it.”
Steamboat residents are concerned about the water’s impact on the town and their health.
“If I had to live in Steamboat today, I would probably not have any friends, I wouldn’t have any family,” the resident said.
“There are a lot of people who are suffering because of the water.”
“People in Steamboating are literally in their homes, their cars are all dirty, their garbage is all out there, and people have to come and clean it,” said a resident of another town that has seen its water levels rise.
“It’s just ridiculous.
It’s a disaster, and we need to fix it.”
